The first 14 years of our marriage we spent living in Munich, Germany. Those formative years impacted our world view and my view of design. While my husband spent his hours in a biotech hub, working tirelessly towards curing diseases, I was left to figure out life in a foreign land. Some days I fell (hard) flat on my face, while others were so picturesque you'd think I made them up. But somewhere in between, I found myself. More than ever, making the wherever a HOME became my passion. In time, I did the same for one expat after another. By the time we made our way back to my hometown of Pittsburgh, we'd added our two oldest sons, Brenner and Sawyer, to the party. Our littlest, Fin, would make a welcome, albeit surprise, appearance not long thereafter. With this (slightly) crazy, always-passionate clan now complete, I made the decision to convert my full-time passion for design to a full-time vocation, and I'm honored you took a moment to see what hY.design is all about.
